WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE BACK LOT?
There is always something going on at RPI. Sometimes we are getting new software, a new press and every once and a while we get a new building. There is a 22,000 square foot building under construction on the side of RPI. If the weather conditions cooperate and everything runs smoothly, the building should be completed in the spring of 2004. Ironically, we celebrate RPI’s 35th anniversary in 2004.

After the completion of the building, RPI will have about 75,000 total square feet of space. This expansion will let the bindery department and storage space grow. We also plan to put fulfillment in the new building. The new building will be complete with heat and air conditioning.

We are using Michael Lichtenburg & Sons Construction Inc. to construct the building. Mike Lichtenburg built RPI’s first building, which is 10,000 square feet, at 1920 Radcliff Drive in 1981. He also built the second building, which is 15,000 square feet, at 1930 Radcliff Drive in 1984.

After the city bought the building on top of the hill, Gary and Ken are expecting to see more activity on Knob Hill. We are planning more projects in the next year that will update our current facility.
